Express trains will continue to run: Rlys

Salem railway divisional manager (DRM) A Gautam Srinivas on Saturday said the express trains, which were introduced after the lockdown, would continue to run as usual. “Adequate trains are being operated to various destinations and hence there is no need to panic. Tickets are available at all the railway stations.”
Referring to the video of large crowds thronging at railway stations following cancellation of trains that went viral on social media, he said that was a “manipulated” video clipping.
Srinivas said awareness campaigns were being conducted to encourage the railway staff and passengers to follow Covid-19 precautionary measures. “We have displayed posters on norms to be followed at railway stations. We also make and audio-visual announcements on the same.”
The DRM said the railway staff, especially reservation clerks and travelling ticket examiners, who come in direct contact with passengers, were being administered vaccine against Covid on a priority basis.
