Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson for US president? The actor said he would be honoured to serve.

Earlier this week, a Newsweek poll found that almost 46% of Americans would support a presidential run by the actor.

The 48-year-old reacted to the results on Instagram. Alongside a screenshot of the article, he wrote: "I don't think our Founding Fathers ever envisioned a six-four, bald, tattooed, half-Black, half-Samoan, tequila drinking, pick up truck driving, fanny pack wearing guy joining their club - but if it ever happens it'd be my honour to serve you, the people."

In 2017 paperwork was filed on Dwayne's behalf by Kenton Tilford under the organisation, Run the Rock 2020.  In an interview with CCN at the time, Kenton said his goal was to "show Mr Johnson that his incredible popularity as an actor and public figure can translate into politics seamlessly. And I hope it influences him to take the plunge and run in 2020."
