Man killed in St. Petersburg shooting, police say

ST. PETERSBURG — A 30-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday near Gibbs High School, police say.

The shooting happened just after 1 p.m. at the intersection of Freemont Terrace S and 32nd Street S, according to St. Petersburg police.

The wounded man was taken to a nearby hospital, police say, but later died from his injuries.

Police said the shooting has been deemed a homicide but no arrests have been made. St. Petersburg police did not release the name of the man who died or any other information about the incident.
