Sporadic violence in some areas
Clashes broke out in Pathartuli area in Sitalkuchi area between TMC and BJP workers. Police resorted to lathicharge and CAPF personnel were deployed. EC officials reached the booth in Pathartuli as voters were unable to vote
In Cooch Behar's Sitalkuchi, a first time voter was shot to death by a miscreant while he was standing in queue.

Domjur assembly constituency in Howrah district is witnessing a tough fight between turncoat Trinamool Congress heavyweight Rajib Banerjee, who is now the BJP candidate, and TMC’s Kalyanendu Ghosh. Banerjee, a former minister, is facing an acid test in the constituency he won twice before, in 2011 and 2016, on a TMC ticket. He joined the BJP in January. He has considerable clout, while his TMC opponent is a dedicated grassroot-level worker.
Chunchura, in neighbouring Hooghly district, is a major headache for chief minister Mamata Banerjee. Lack of industrialisation, closed jute mills and unemployment are major poll issues. BJP has fielded sitting Hooghly MP Locket Chatterjee from there. TMC has fielded Asit Majumdar as its candidate
