How SA's 4 hopefuls fared on Day 2 at the Masters: Schwartzel best placed but 8 off the pace

It was a day to forgot for the South African contingent after Round 2 of the 2021 Masters at Augusta National on Friday.

After Christiaan Bezuidenhout was tied for fourth after Day 1, Friday's action saw him him fire a 76 to leave himself on 146, nine behind leader, England's Justin Rose.

He was joined on that total by Louis Oosthuizen, who fired shot a 70 to improve greatly on his first round of 76.

Dylan Frittelli missed the cut after he could only managed a 74 to go with his first round of 76.

Charl Schwartzel was the best placed of the South African's after shooting a 71 in the second round. 

That left him on a total of 145, eight shots behind Rose.
