Maha CM in favour of complete lockdown for at least 8 days

Mumbai, Apr 10 (UNI) Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said on Saturday that he is in favour of complete lockdown for at least 8 days and pointed that lockdown seems to be the only option to break the chain of coronavirus.

The Chief Minister made this observation after presiding over a meeting held late this evening with Leader of the Opposition Devendra Fadnavis and his Cabinet colleagues via video conferencing, over the Covid-19 situation in the state.

During the meeting, Mr Thackeray expressed the need to implement lockdown to fight the unprecedented rise in corona cases in the state, saying that one Covid patient is infecting 25 others.

"Lockdown seems to be the only option to break the virus chain," he noted and said that he was in favour of complete lockdown for at least 8 days.

A decision on the lockdown will be taken after the task force meeting on Sunday, the Chief Minister added.
