MANGALURU: Minister of backward class welfare and muzrai Kota Shrinivas
Poojari announced on twitter that he has been tested positive for
Covid-19 on Saturday.
The minister tweeted from @KotasBJP that since was tested positive for Covid-19 he will be available only on mobile phone. "Those who were in touch with me in the past two days should undergo tests for Covid-19," he tweeted.
In fact Poojari also had participated in the Dharmanemotsava held at Kelagina Kunjadi Tharavadu Mane, Kadaba taluk, the ancestral house of
BJP state president Nalin Kumar Kateel. The festival held on April 8 and 9 had witnessed participation of thousands of devotees from various parts of the state.

Poojari was seen sitting between Eshwarappa and Karandlaje during the Dharmanemotsava in a picture that went viral after the festival. Poojari also had accompanied Eshwarappa in a press meet held at a Hotel in the city on Wednesday.
DHO Dr Kishore Kumar M told TOI that the district surveillance officer has been asked to commence the contact tracing. "We have received the information that the minister has tested positive for Covid-19. We will initiate the contact tracing process immediately," he added.
