44 candidates in fray for 10 wards of Sanguem municipal polls

After the withdrawal of nomination forms a total of 44 candidates have remained in the fray in 10 wards of Sanguem Municipal council.

There is no straight fight between candidates in any ward. The maximum candidates are 6 in ward No 10 which is reserved for ST women. 4 women are contesting in ward No 3 and five women are contesting in ward No 5. Both these wards are reserved for women. Ward No 9 which is reserved for OBC women three candidates are contesting.

In Quepem Municipal council 55 candidates are contesting from a total of 13 wards.

There is a straight fight between ex-chairperson Filu D’Costa and Merwin Martin in ward No 2. 8 candidates are contesting in ward No 12 which is reserved for ST while in ward No 13 which is also reserved for ST 3 candidates are contesting. In ward No 3 reserved for women 4 candidates are in the fray while 3 candidates are contesting in ward No 6 which is reserved for OBC women.

Ward No 7 which is reserved for women there will be a three corner fight. Ward No 9 which is reserved for ST women 3 candidates are contesting while ward No 10 which is reserved for SC women 5 candidates are contesting. There will be a three corner fight in ward No 11 which is reserved for women.
