Curfew imposed in Jaipur areas under 6 police stations

JAIPUR: Jaipur police have imposed round the clock curfew at selected places under Muhana, Sodala, Shipra Path, Jyothi Nagar, Mansarovar and Ashok Nagar police stations while the strict enforcement of night curfew from 8 pm till 6 pm in the entire police Commissionerate area in view of the surge in cases on Friday. The curfew will remain till the number of cases declines.

Avinash Sharma, additional DCP Jaipur (South) said that decision of curfew has been taken in the interest of the citizens. “I urge citizens that round the clock curfew is a precautionary measure to stop the spread of infection in areas where it is rising rapidly. It is expected from citizens to follow the rules strictly by their own helping the city fighting corona,” said Sharma.
He clarified that those citizens facing an emergency or in dire need of any necessary item can contact the nearest police station. “Other than medical shops, all other businesses in the area will be closed till further orders. The essential goods/commodities will be provided as per the rule,” said Sharma.
The areas have been identified on the basis of a spike in the cases recorded in the last few days.
Rahul Prakash, additional commissioner of police (II), said, “Unnecessary movement of transport and people will be restricted from 8 pm till 6am,” said Prakash.
