Sharmila to launch new political party in Telangana

Hyderabad: YS Sharmila, the sister of Ys Jagan Mohan Reddy, Prime Minister of Andhra Pradesh, announced on Friday that she will be running a new political party in Telangana.

Announcing her political invasion of Telangana during a public meeting in Khammam, she vowed to bring back the golden rule of her late father YS Rajasekhara Reddy, the late Prime Minister of the undivided Andhra Pradesh (2004-09).

Sharmila’s mother, YS Vijayamma, shared the scene with her and appealed to people to bless Sharmila with their support.

Sharmila said she takes a small step with ‘Sankapa Sabha’ to follow in the footsteps of her deceased father. She recalls that it was 18 years ago on this day (April 9) that YSR ‘sowed the seed of his golden rule with’ Praja Prasthanam ‘padyatra’.

Sharmila reminded Prime Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao of his promise of KG to PG-free education. She also undertook the BJP government under the leadership of the center to go back to the promises made to Telangana.

She also voiced those who question her roots. Sharmila said whether anyone accepts it or not, she is a daughter of Telangana and will remain so. “I grew up in this country. Is it wrong if I want to repay this country, ”she asked.

The YSR Congress Party (YSRCP), led by Jagan Mohan Reddy, has already acknowledged that there is a difference of opinion between the brother and sister over the political ambitions of the latter in Telangana.

‘Sankalpa Sabha’ was Sharmila’s first public meeting since she announced her intention to run a political party in Telangana.

Sharmila has been holding meetings with YSR loyalists from various districts in Telangana for more than a month to take their feedback before announcing her political plans.

She promised to bring back ‘Rajanna Rajyam’ (a reference to YSR’s poor and welfare regime) in Telangana.

The compound Khammam district is considered politically important. Sharmila expanded the district during her “Maro Praja Prasthanam”, a state-wide career, in 2013 to garner support for her brother who was then in the case in an exorbitant assets.

The YSRCP won one MP and three MLA seats in the old undivided Khammam district during the first elections in Telangana in 2014.
