Bengal Elections 2021: BJP candidate’s car gets attacked in Hooghly during fourth phase of elections
The fourth phase of the Bengal assembly election has begun today and BJP candidate’s car got attacked in the Hooghly district. BJP has blamed TMC for this attack.
The fourth phase of the assembly elections in West Bengal has begun at 7 am, on Saturday, April 10. Even, this time, Bengal wasn’t untouched by the violence during the election. BJP candidate Locket Chatterjee’s car got attacked in Hooghly district at polling booth number 66.
Well, she has spoken to an Election Commission officer over the phone and said that she was attacked by locals at polling booth number 66 in Hooghly. She also said that journalists have been attacked too and demanded that additional forces to be sent here, according to a video shared by the news agency ANI.

In an other video shared by the ANI, journalists who were covering the fourth phase of the election in Hooghly became the victim of the act of aggression. Also, onslaughts were made on their vehicles, too.

These violent acts during elections are not outlandish anymore. During the third phase of the election, TMC candidate Sujata Mondal was also attacked in Arambagh by some mask-clad men. As the voting was underway, a clash cropped up between BJP and TMC workers. And some bricks were thrown at the TMC candidate.
Well, Locket Chatterjee is an MP from Hooghly itself. She is being considered an empowered woman candidate of the BJP. Her contributions to the party’s effulgent rise in West Bengal cannot be left out in the cold.
In 2015, she left the TMC saying that she felt suffocated there and then, joined hands with the BJP. TMC’S Asif Majmudar is competing against her. The Central Ruling party has accused the TMC of the violent act against its candidate.
