UP schools to get more classrooms, furniture

LUCKNOW: Children enrolled in state-run schools will get desks, benches and additional classrooms, besides other facilities, in the new academic session.
Government schools will also be equipped with roof rainwater harvesting system and incinerators.
Director general, school education, Vijay Kiran Anand has asked all district basic shiksha adhikaris to prepare a list of schools which have main electricity connection but no inner wiring, those which do not have main connection but are internally wired, and those which neither have main connection nor inner wiring.
In districts where an English medium primary and upper primary school is running on one premises will be transformed into model schools this year. The government will also ensure availability of running water through submersible pipes. Like previous year, the department has sought a list of dilapidated schools which need to be renovated or demolished.
Solar RO plants will be installed in10 schools each in 10 districts – Agra, Etah, Mathura, Bahraich, Shravasti, Lakhimpur Kheri, Siddharthanagar, Gorakhpur, Unnao and Hardoi. Schools where student enrolment is more than 100 will be selected for solar RO plant.
