    Pandemic is pushing the revolving door in luxury space

    Synopsis

    If Covid-19 doesn’t derail plans, brands like Alexander McQueen, Philipp Plein, Billionaire, Vilebrequin and beauty brand La Mer are expected to make an entry into India by 2022. Swiss luxury watch brand Girard-Perregaux is also expanding its footprint in India with the help of its local partner, Ethos Watches.

    LVMH-owned Fendi shuttered its only store in the country in Delhi’s ritzy Emporio mall on March 22. It did not have enough business, sources let on. Covid-19 has not been kind to industries and it has resulted in a brand churn in the luxury space as well. The pandemic is pushing the revolving door.
