These days when fuel prices are touching skies, more and more people are looking for alternate options like electric vehicles and CNG fuel. Several mainstream vehicle manufacturers have already started offering CNG and electric vehicles. Across India we will find a variety of vehicles like hatchbacks, sedans, MUVs and even buses and trucks running on CNG. We have rarely seen a luxury car waiting to refill at a CNG pump, until now. Here we have a video that shows a Mercedes-Benz C-Class luxury sedan running on CNG.

The video has been uploaded by Raspreet Gill on his YouTube channel. The video basically talks about how CNG was installed and has this aftermarket installation affected the performance of the car. The vlogger starts by talking about the technical specification of the vehicle. The car seen in the video is a Mercedes-Benz C-Class C200 Kompressor that is powered by a petrol engine generating 185 Bhp and 285 Nm of torque.

As per the video, the car is almost 12 years old and the car has already completed over 3,000 kms after installing the CNG kit. The vlogger shows how the CNG kit was installed under the hood and also shows the CNG gas cylinder in the boot. The vlogger then takes it to a nearby fuel pump to refill gas. The vlogger shows the certification plate of the CNG kit installed under the bonnet and starts refilling it.

Vlogger refills the gas cylinder and takes it out for a spin. This is an automatic vehicle and vlogger can be heard saying that everything on this vehicle works just like the way, it is supposed to work. All the electricals and the gauges in the vehicle are working just fine. While installing a CNG kit into such an expensive car, there are several things that could go wrong. The vlogger says that there is no lag felt while driving the car. There is only slight sound from the gas being pushed to the engine and apart from that there is no other issue.

The car can be switched between petrol and CNG modes using the button next to the steering wheel. He says, that you won’t notice any difference in cars performance after installing the CNG kit. He says that, after installing the CNG kit, this Mercedes-Benz is now a great city car as the owner will not have worry about the fuel economy.

In comparison to petrol or diesel, CNG are cheap and provide good fuel economy as well. In a car like Mercedes-Benz it will make a difference as it will now be a lot more cheaper to run whether it is city or on highways. The benefit of installing CNG is that, it co-exists with the original petrol engine. instead of using petrol, the engine uses the Compressed Natural Gas or better known as CNG. If at any point, the owner wants to switch back to petrol, he or she can do it easily with the push of button. If you are planning to install an aftermarket CNG kit on your vehicle, make sure that you are installing an RTO approved kit.
