NABARD Goa disburses Rs 250 crore RIDF loan in 2020-21

The regional office of NABARD, on Friday, reported stellar performance in business areas and on the developmental front in the state during 2020-21.

The financial institution achieved sanction and disbursement under Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) at Rs 344 crore and Rs 250 crore as against a target of Rs 65 crore and Rs 150 crore respectively.

Under NABARD Infrastructure Development Assistance (NIDA), the bank sanctioned Rs 64.87 crore and disbursed
Rs 21.8 crore.

Other achievements during the year are a refinance window opened for Goa State Co-operative Bank after a gap of almost 25 years wherein Rs 20 crore was disbursed under short term lending and Rs 5.25 crore under short term seasonal agricultural operations.

NABARD officials said that funding to the state under long-term irrigation fund and fisheries and aquaculture infrastructure development fund are in the final stages of sanction.

The regional office also released Rs 3.8 crore as central government grant assistance for the Tillari Irrigation Project.

On the developmental front, NABARD set up rural marts across the state. Presently, the NABARD is supporting GI tagging of local produce viz Kunbi weaving, mankurad mango and bebinca. The bank’s skill training to rural populace and setting up of rural haat is in the
 final stage.

Towards institutional development, NABARD provided training on corporate governance to the board of directors of GSCB during
the year.

Officials said that, proactive supervision on GSCB resulted in the co-operative bank improving its financials in terms of profit, CRAR, etc.

The state credit seminar 2021-22, organised by NABARD had the Chief Minister, Pramod Sawant, as the chief guest.
