UP Congress leaving no stone unturned for panchayat polls

Lucknow, Apr 9 (UNI) To put the Congress as senior contender in the Assembly elections next year, Uttar Pradesh Congress is making all efforts to build-up a strong organization at ground level and the result of the panchayat elections will be crucial.
"We already made organization till every block and panchayat level and making every efforts to win a big number of seats in the on-going three-tier panchayat elections as it would help to make the Party as a serious contender in the Assembly elections-2022”, claimed state Congress president Ajay Kumar Lallu here on Friday.
He said that besides strengthening the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, they appointed senior leaders as incharges of each district besides making a committee under the respective District presidents, so that right and young candidates could be selected and they set a platform for the Party for the final Assembly election next year.
District President of the Congress here in Lucknow, Ved Prakash Tripathi said that they were contesting all the panchayat seats here in the State capital and also declared their candidates who had filed their nominations. He said that to motivate the contestants as well as the workers, they also announced that those performing well in the elections will be considered for the fight during Assembly elections.
Mr Tripathi said that they already launched a campaign much ahead of announcement of panchayat polls, and the party workers already made contact with the local villagers.
