Carey Mulligan Reveals the Strange Thing She's Bringing to the Oscars This Year
Carey Mulligan is nominated for her second Oscar this year and she’s looking forward to the ceremony in two weeks!
The 35-year-old Promising Young Woman actress talked about her plans for the event during an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (April 8) in New York City.
Carey was on the show to promote her upcoming hosting gig on Saturday Night Live this weekend.
While talking about the Oscars, Carey revealed that her mom gave her an interesting gift after the nominations were announced. She plans on bringing the gift to the Oscars!

“Mom came with me last time and actually she’s amazing, she always comes with me when I’m traveling, especially with my children,” Carey said during the interview. “But because the situation at the moment, she couldn’t get in.”
Carey talked about the “weird” gift that her mom gave her before heading to the U.S. for SNL and the Oscars. “I brought it all the way, it came all the way from England,” she said.
The gift is a pink, heart-shaped box containing the acrylic nails that she wore when she played Cassie in Promising Young Woman.
“The last day of filming, I guess, I came home and I was like, watching America’s Ninja Warrior and I was on the sofa and I just sort of started ripping them off, cause they had been really annoying,” she said. “And I don’t know, I left them on the side of the sofa or something and my mom was like, ‘Ooh, I’m going to squirrel these away.’”
She jokingly added, “It’s coming to the Oscars with me.”
