CM Yogi Adityanath to visit Prayagraj, Varanasi to assess Covid situation
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath to visit Prayagraj and Varanasi today to assess Covid situation there. Medical education minister Suresh Khanna to leave for Ghaziabad, Noida, Meerut and Saharanpur; while health minister Jai Singh will similar visit Kanpur, Agra, Jhansi and Bareilly.
In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases, KGMU administration has decided to conduct screening of various departments. On 7th April more than 30 doctors had tested positive here and screenings are being done since then.
An Air India Express flight made a precautionary landing at Kozhikode today after pilots detected fire alarm from cargo. With 17 passengers onboard, the flight was scheduled for Calicut-Kuwait.

BJP office in Durgapur allegedly vandalised by TMC workers
West Bengal: Bharatiya Janata Praty (BJP) office in Basudha area of Durgapur was allegedly vandalised by TMC workers yesterday. "TMC goons have vandalised our office. If they think BJP can be stopped by such attacks then they are wrong. People are with us", said a BJP worker. (ANI)
Remdesivir ‘missing’ from markets as cases surge in Madhya Pradesh
Even as the state government stepped in to procure antiviral drug, Remdesivir, it continues to remain elusive for the kin of serious coronavirus patients, who believe that the vile in question gives them the best chance to save their patient. Meanwhile, district collector Avinash Lavania, on Thursday wrote to hospitals asking for judicious use of Ramdesivir on Covid-19 patients, following a letter of controller, food & drug administration, Dr Sanjay Goyal, to CMHOs across the state, saying that Ramdesivir is for “restricted emergency use” and it should be used according to guidelines of the Union health ministry.
Highest ever 4324 cases, 27 deaths in 24 hrs in Madhya Pradesh
Each day brings along a new spike in Covid-19 cases in Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday, 4,324 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported along with 27 deaths, the third highest casualties in a single day since the pandemic began. In all, 28060 people were recovering from the infection on Thursday.

Lucknow: 3 KGMU doctors, 23 staffers test positive
As many as 26 persons — three faculty members and 23 paramedics and other staff — of the neurosurgery department of KGMU tested Covid-19 positive in mass screening. All are asymptomatic or have mild symptoms, said KGMU spokesperson Dr Sudhir Singh. On the other hand, two inmates of Lucknow University’s Tilak Girls’ hostel tested positive during mass sampling drive. Assistant Provost Maduri Kakoti informed that both the girls are asymptomatic and have been isolated in the hostel.
