Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao said on Thursday that a person not wearing a mask in public would be fined Rs 1000 and asked the police to strictly enforce the masking rule.
The Prime Minister, who is reviewing Covid situation in the state during a meeting with ministers and top officials, said wearing masks should be strictly enforced to limit the spread of the pandemic.
If the people do not wear masks, they should be fined Rs 1000 per person. He wanted the Director-General of Police (DGP) to instruct the police department to strictly enforce this mask rule.
Follow all Covid guidelines: KCR
KCR, as Rao is popularly known, encouraged the people to follow all these things Covid guidelines, wear masks, take all precautions and be aware of the spread of Covid. The CM suggested that people in the busy places like Hyderabad, Rangareddy and Medchal districts and in corporations and municipalities should be vigilant.
The CM took part in the video conference organized by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. He later held a review meeting with the medical and health officials about the situation stemming from the pandemic.
He instructed the officials concerned to Covid tests with a view to increasing cases. He said all frontline employees should be vaccinated cents percent. The CM wanted the whole process to be completed within a week.
He spoke with DGP M Mahender Reddy, General Secretary (Panchayat Raj) Sandeep Sultania, General Secretary (Municipal Administration and Urban Development) Arvind Kumar, Commissioner of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Lokesh Kumar, and General Secretary (Transport) Sri Sunil Sharma over phone. The CM instructed that the staff and employees in these departments should be vaccinated cent percent. The CM also instructed the relevant heads of institutions to report to the CMO on the vaccination every day.
Vaccination
The CM has asked everyone who has exceeded the age limit of 45 to be vaccinated.
He said collectors and other district-level officials should hold a video conference and start a special vaccination drive. He said that the tests should be increased, in all the districts RTPCR tests should be done in large numbers in the districts. The CM instructed the officials to make RTPCR test kits available.
The CM instructed the medical and health officials to set up test centers in Gadwal, Wanaparthy, Khammam, Nirmal, Mancherial, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Medak, Jagtial, Pedapalli, Ramagundam, Bhongir, Jangaon and Vikarabad.
