Amid shortage, IIT Gandhinagar vaccinated students out of turn

AHMEDABAD: Controversy erupted over reports that while other states requested the Centre for vaccines to be given to vaccinate the youths, the IIT Gandhinagar (IIT-Gn) had vaccinated hundreds of its students out of turn in the state capital.
Sources said that in the beginning of April, more than 400 students were vaccinated.
Many students on the campus conceded to have got the vaccination.
Sources close to the development said that several students were reportedly described as ‘frontline workers’ due to their role in Covid-19 control on the campus, thus making them eligible for the vaccine.
