Shares of (up 10.14 per cent), (up 10.0 per cent), (up 6.85 per cent), Punjab & Sind Bank (up 6.8 per cent) and (up 6.52 per cent) were among the top gainers.
While (down 0.7 per cent) was the sole loser in the index.
The Nifty PSU Bank index was trading 1.64 per cent up at 2181.6 around 02:14PM.
Benchmark NSE Nifty50 index was down -51.15 points at 14822.65, while the BSE Sensex was down -157.67 points at 49588.54.
Among the 50 stocks in the Nifty index, 19 were trading in the green, while 31 were in the red.
Shares of PNB, Vodafone Idea, Tata Motors, IDFC First Bank and SAIL were among the most traded shares on the NSE.
Shares of JSW Energy, Cadila Healthcare, SterlingWilson Solar, Prince Pipes and Cipla hit their fresh 52-week high in today's trade, while SecUR Credentials Ltd., Global Education Ltd., Marine Electricals (India) Ltd. and Radha Madhav Corporation Ltd. hit fresh 52-week low in trade.
