Night curfew in 8 cities of Karnataka from April 10 to contain corona

Bengaluru, Apr 9 (UNI) Night curfew will be clamped in Karnataka from tomorrow (April 10 to 20) restricting movement of people during 2200 hours to 0500 hours to curb surge in Covid -19 infections.
According to notification issued here on Friday by the Chief Secretary, essential services are exempted from curfew.
Night Curfew will be in force in Bengaluru City, Mysuru, Mangaluru, Udupi-Manipal, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Tumakuru, the official said.
Movement of people was restricted except those returning home after the second shift or going for night shift jobs.
Movement of goods vehicles, shops and business establishments, except essential service, should remain closed during the curfew duration.
The State government, however, ruled out a lockdown or day curfew and sought cooperation from people to curb the spread of the pandemic which is surging.
