Hyderabad: President and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy, chairman of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, on Friday demanded that Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao disqualify four MLAs from the Assembly because he was allegedly involved in a drug scandal.
Accompanied by DASoju Sravan, official spokesman for the AICC, and Mettu Sai, chairman of the Telangana Fishermen Congress, he addressed media personnel at Gandhi Bhavan here, accusing the Bangalore police of recording the statement of a prominent businessman, who communicated has that four TRS MLAs were involved in the drug scandal. The TPCC president claims that TRS collaborated with the BJP and tried to cover up the case.
“If BJP has not teamed up with the TRS, why not put pressure on the Karnataka government to act on the four TRS MLAs,” Uttam Kumar questioned Reddy, adding that the Congress party would meet the governor and would submit a memorandum herein.
He appealed to the residents of Telangana, especially voters in the Nagarjuna Sagar constituency, to see the arrogance of power and money of the TRS government.
Uttam Kumar Reddy also claims that Prime Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao teamed up with Andhra Pradesh, Prime Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, and allowed the diversion of the Krishna River at Srisailam to Andhra Pradesh. He stated that the Prime Minister had not uttered a word when the AP government raised the level of Pothireddypadu and started the construction work to draw water at Sangameswara.
