PUBG: New State Release Date Slated for “Later in 2021”

Krafton revealed that PUBG: New State had exceeded over 10 million registrations on the Google Play Store and also hinted that the game would be available later in the year. According to a tweet from the official handle for PUBG: New State, the company “can’t wait” for a PUBG: New State release date “later in 2021”.

PUBG: New State India Release Date

India launch for PUBG: New State may be in limbo. According to a press release sent by Krafton to international media during the game’s reveal, PUBG: New State will not have an India release date. Rather, the company has marked PUBG: New State as a global release “excluding China, Vietnam, and India”.

IGN India has seen these details and verified them to be accurate. We’ve reached out to Krafton for comment at the time and as always, it hasn’t replied. No surprise when you consider that its methods to disseminate any information to Indian media appear to be far from genuine.

Nonetheless, the game isn’t being developed by Tencent, rather it’s being helmed by Krafton’s own PUBG Studio. However with Tencent being the second-largest shareholder in Krafton, it will be interesting to see if being made in South Korea is enough for the Indian government to allow it to release.

Through 2020 the Indian government had banned over 200 Chinese apps citing them to be “prejudicial to sovereignty and integrity of India, defence of India, security of state and public order”.

While PUBG Mobile was not in the first wave of apps that were banned, it did eventually get banned in September. Sources familiar with the situation speaking to IGN India under the condition of anonymity state that the government has no plans to unban PUBG Mobile. Of late though, Krafton has been teasing a potential release.
