Covid revival: Telangana police take steps to wear masks

Hyderabad: In view of the rapidly increasing Covid Business in the state Telangana police are taking various steps to ensure that the rule regarding wearing masks is strictly enforced in all public places, with immediate effect.

In this regard, the DGP, Telangana held a meeting with all Commissioners of Police, District Supervisors of Police and all other officers up to the rank of SHOs through video conference. Range DIsG, Zonal IsGP and ADG (Law & Order) participated in the meeting.

According to a notice issued by the DGP, police officers across the state have been instructed to co-ordinate with all stakeholders in the local communities, including Resident’s Welfare Associations, town / ward level officials and to regulate the conduct strictly implement. of the mask mandatory in all public places.

‘They have been instructed to involve all the self-help groups across the state in the voluntary compliance by the local communities. Strict enforcement measures, including the prosecution of repeat offenders by registering specific cases, will be done across the state. ”Read the statement.

Police have also instructed the owners of various trading establishments where there are likely to be gatherings, including shopping malls, wine shops, bars, hotels, restaurants, kirana shops, petrol pumps, etc. to not allow access to people without masks. The businesses involved will not provide their services to customers without wearing masks. They are also instructed to display appropriate signs in their institutions in prominent places and to ensure the same as required by the National Disaster Management Act.
