Block hate tweets, SGPC asks Twitter

Taking cognisance of hate comments, the SGPC has asked Twitter to block the gateway through which remarks against the Sikh community were being posted. In a letter to Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, SGPC president Bibi Jagir Kaur has equated the “direct and deleterious hate-filled” tweets against the Sikhs with the anti-Jew propaganda of the Nazis. She has asked him to instruct his India team to monitor, flag and remove hate-filled tweets and block such Twitter handles.

Kaur said tweets against the Sikhs were the result of farmers’ agitation against the central farm laws. — TNS
