Not looking for sympathy we all value hard work and time devoted to our bodies. I used to stomp around in here so long ago, i dont even remember my old username.
But I am looking for support and advice.
Background is I'm 49 years old incredibly fit for my age at least in terms of cardio and body fat which is around 18.2% (178 pounds now). BUt the degradation of my body is devastating me both mentally and physically. Started about two and a half years ago I got plantar fascia from running which immediately stopped that activity, and only healed due to covid and not walking to work. Also within that time I got a shoulder injury which required surgery. Over this time I've since lost 15 lb of lean muscle mass that took me years to obtain.
The issue I have is no matter what I seem do do, or how light i go, i seem to be injured 100% of the time now. This is not an exaggeration. Its always something - my elbow, shoulder, knee, neck, lower back, wrist, basically every joint i have, just not all at once. So it's one thing to just say like my dick doctor did on Monday "I'm older and can't expect to be in fit as I used to be", but Ive worked out since i was 15. I know the drill.......but even when trying to not deliberately overdo it I can't NOT get injured even when I AM LITERALLY TRYING not to get injured. This back injury and latest torn meniscus is my breaking point. ANd now my back is hurting when i wake up (this just started last week) so at my wits end.
MAIN CONCERN: This is more than old guy stuff I believe. HAS to be. It's like I am that Dr Glass character - I am truly beginning to believe I have a disease that is affecting my joints and ligaments, and muscles as silly as this sounds, - but more so than the average man my age. My connective tissue in general seems to be HYPER senstive which is causing me to get injured with the slightest movements. A frigging set of careful burpees caused the bottom of my foot to hurt. WTF.
I am open to stories, possible causes, potential science based supplements, and would pay a small fortune to reverse the clock back 5 years. HELP!!!
