PRAYAGRAJ: In a bid to ensure an effective Covid-19 management system in the Sangam city, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Friday directed the district authorities and health officials to arrange additional dedicated hospitals, besides MLN Medical College, to treat Covid patients.
Holding a Covid review meeting with officials at ICCC (Integrated Command & Control Centre), the CM told them to intensify testing and contact tracing with an aim to contain the disease. He also directed the officials to make testing of people coming from other states mandatory. Likewise, the containment zone system should be implemented strictly.
Yogi said, “If one positive case is detected, the containment zone must be of 25-meter radius and 50-meter on the detection of two cases.” He also said focus should be on setting up level two and level three hospitals and providing all facilities to the patients.
“There should be no shortage of oxygen in hospitals,” added the CM.
He also asked the health officials to ensure Covid and non-Covid ward arrangements in hospitals and arrange ambulances for different purposes.
The CM strictly said that ambulances must reach patients on time and laxity in this regard would not be tolerated at any cost. Besides, CCTVs installed at hospitals should be functional.
The CM also laid stress on creating mass awareness through the public address system (PAS) at all prominent crossings. He said people, apart from wearing masks, should also maintain social distancing.
He directed the police officials to initiate action against those not wearing masks. But, the police action should not be malicious., he added.
The CM said cleanliness and sanitization campaign should be effectively taken in both rural and urban areas.
Asking the officials to intensify vaccination, he said efforts should be made to make the ‘Tika Utsav’ event — to be held between April 11 and 14 — a grand success.
The CM also inspected Covid ward at SRN hospital and enquired about the facilities available in general ward and OPD. He asked the hospital superintendent to ensure that there is no excessive crowding and online arrangements are ensured. He also asked the health officials to provide better treatment to the patients.
The CM made it clear that the priority was to save the lives of patients.
He also asked medical and para medical staff to protect themselves while treating the patients.
The CM also inspected ICCC and interacted with health officials and district authorities. He asked the officials to conduct testing through RTPCR (60 to 70 percent) in Prayagraj district and make efforts to take level of testing up to 20,000 per day in coming days.
He said proper preparations should be made for Tika Utsav from April 11 and 14. All the public representatives should participate to make the event successful, the CM added.
