GUWAHATI, April 8: Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has surpassed its yearly target of earnings from sale of scrap items during the last financial year 2020-21. Notably, sale of scrap is done through e-auction and during this period, Northeast Frontier Railway earned INR94.64 crores from the same surpassing the target of INR75 crores by 26.33%. NFR also surpassed the previous year’s scrap sale earnings of INR87.68 crores by 7.97%.

It may also be mentioned here that Indian Railways has achieved the highest ever scrap sale in the Financial Year 2020-21. Through this sale, Indian Railways earned a total of INR4573 crores during 2020-21 as compared to INR4333 crores during 2019-20 which is 5.5% higher. The previous best was INR4409 crores in 2009-10.
