India to open an embassy in Paraguay: MEA spokesperson Arindam Bagchi
India and China had agreed to convene 11th round of senior commanders meeting, said MEA spokesperson.

On Thursday, April 8, Spokeperson of Ministry of External Affairs Arindam Bagachi addressed press conference regarding prime minister visit to US on climate change conference and on India’s relation with Paraguay.
Arindam Bagachi said, “US Special Presidential Envoy for Climate John Kerry’s visit was in the run-up to summit on climate, convened by the US on April 23-24 virtually. At invitation of President Biden, PM Narendra Modi will participate in summit along with other world leaders,” as quoted by ANI.
Spokesperson said about the vaccine diplomacy and said, “Supply of Made in India vaccines would continue, taking into account our domestic requirements. There is no ban on the export of vaccines.”
He also spoke about the India’s new diplomacy relation with South-American country Paraguay and added, “During conversation between External Affairs Minister & Paraguay’s Foreign Minister, a request for vaccines was raised by Paraguay side. EAM responded positively to this request. Subsequently, a shipment of Made in India vaccines was sent to Paraguay. No third party was involved,” as ANI quotes.

He also said that, “India is opening an embassy in Paraguay,” and Paraguay is one of such country which supports and recognise Taiwan as Country.
Arindam Bagachi further said about the India’s relation with China and talked about disengagement and added, “We would like to see disengagement in the remaining areas in eastern Ladakh. During the meeting on March 12 on the Working Mechanism for Consultation & Coordination (WMCC), India and China had agreed to convene 11th round of senior commanders meeting.”

Mr. John Kerry also briefed the Prime Minister on his fruitful and productive discussions over the last two days visit in India. He positively noted India’s Climate Actions including its ambitious renewable energy plans. He briefed the Prime Minister about the upcoming Leaders’ Summit on Climate scheduled for 22-23 April 2021.
