Anil Deshmukh demanded Rs 2 crore from me: Sachin Waze in explosive letterNew Delhi, Apr 08: The Supreme Court is all set to hear the petitions filed by former Maharashtra home minister Anil Deshmukh and the state government, challenging the Bombay High Court order directing for a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI)'s preliminary probe against him on corruption allegations levelled by former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh.
In his letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, Singh had alleged that Deshmukh had directed suspended assistant police inspector Sachin Waze to collect Rs 100 crore every month from bars and restaurants in Mumbai.
Deshmukh submitted his resignation to CM Thackeray on Monday.

He had filed the Special Leave Petition (SLP) before the apex court, challenging April 5 Bombay HC's order. Maharashtra government, in its special leave petition, has argued that the HC had passed the order on the merits of the petition while the case was listed for hearing on maintainability.
The former home minister said it was for the first time in the history of the Indian judiciary that corruption charges against a sitting minister were taken at face value and the high court order for a preliminary probe by an 'outside agency' came without seeking a response from him.
The CBI, meanwhile, is likely to examine the statements of Waze and Singh in the petition registered against Deshmukh and unknown others. A special court today had allowed the CBI to coordinate with NIA if it wants to interrogate Waze.
On Wednesday, Waze alleged that Deshmukh had told him that NCP chief Sharad Pawar was not in favour of his reinstatement and asked him to pay Rs 2 crore to convince Pawar.
