Delhi sees 5,506 new nCoV cases, 20 deaths

New Delhi, Apr 7 (UNI) The national capital on Wednesday reported 5,506 fresh cases of COVID-19, the highest single day spike since November 24 (6,624), taking the total number of infections in the city to 6,90,568, according to health bulleting released by Delhi Health Department.
Besides, 20 more people also died in the past 24 hours, pushing the city's death toll to 11,133.
A total of 90,202 tests were conducted in the past 24 hours. Of these, 52,477 were RT-PCR tests and 37,724 were Rapid Antigen Tests.
Currently, there are 10,048 COVID patients under home isolation across the city who are mostly asymptomatic or with very mild symptoms.

The number of active cases are 19,455 which includes patients under home isolation. Containment zones are 3,708.
On Tuesday, the city had reported 5,100 new cases of COVID-19, the highest single day spike since November 27 (5,482).
The Union Territory government has imposed night curfew from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs from April 7 to April 30 to check the rising number of COVID-19 cases.
