AR inaugrates NCC Boot Camp at Chandel

Chandel, April 07 2021: Chandel Battalion of 26 Sect Assam Rifle under aegis of IGAR(South) inaugurated No 1 NCC Boot Camp 2021 of 14 Manipur NCC Battalion at United College, Chandel on yesterday.

The month long boot camp is being organised to train NCC cadets in various aspects of military life in order to prepare them for joining Armed Forces.

An inaugural ceremony was organised in which Commanding Officer of Chandel Battalion Assam Rifles was invited as Chief Guest during the ceremony.

A total of 56 cadets along with two faculty members including Principal, United College attended the ceremony.

The event started with welcome speech by NCC cadets followed by inaugural speech by Principal United College.

NCC flag was hoisted by the chief guest during which Assam Rifles pipe band played National Anthem.

The motivational speech on the occasion included brief history of NCC, importance of discipline and procedure to join Armed Forces.

The role of NCC cadets in Nation building was also emphasised.

During the camp the Assam Rifles will provide training in drill, basics of map reading and basics of mountaineering.

Principal, United College and cadets expressed their gratitude for organising boot camp.
