My position is they would, in fact, enforce these laws.
Police officers enforce the law whether they agree with those laws or not. There certainly must be some cops who think drugs should be legalized, but arrest people over drugs anyway. Or there are cops who disagree with abortion but still arrest protestors for blocking access to an abortion clinic.
Their job and how they perform it is not based around their own personal opinions.
