Huawei has reportedly decided to push back the Huawei P50 series launch to match with Harmony OS 2.0 stable release. The leak is coming from a post shared by a tipster on the company's fan forum. The next-gen flagship lineup is widely rumored to become the first Huawei release alongside the MatePad Pro 2 to ship with Harmony OS.

Harmony OS is Huawei's own take on the mobile operating system so that it can continue to survive without depending on Google apps and services. It has been under development for years now and most recently, Harmony OS 2.0 developer beta for select Huawei smartphones was released late last year. However, it was later discovered to be another Android fork instead of being a completely different OS like Huawei has been marketing it. We will have to wait and see what is the experience like when it actually ships with smartphones and tablets.

As for the Huawei P50 series, it will be a flagship smartphone lineup with a focus on camera performance. The leaked renders have suggested that there will be a unique camera module design. The phone has a big camera module on the top left side that includes two circles. Each of these circles has two camera sensors which mean it is a quad-camera setup.

The exact megapixel count of these cameras is unknown but the leak suggests there will be a wide-angle sensor, an ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a telephoto sensor. Under the hood, it is expected to feature HiSilicon Kirin 9000 processor. Other details about the phone are scarce at the moment but we should be hearing more as the launch will get closer.
