Expand the T-fiber project in all municipalities in TS: KTR

Hyderabad: Telangana’s Information Technology (IT) and Minister of Industry, KT Rama Rao (KTR), on Thursday instructed officials to extend the Telangana Fiber Grid (T-Fiber) project to all municipalities across the state. KTR has also instructed them to conduct a survey within the boundaries of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) and to submit a report as soon as possible to expand fiber connectivity to 30,000 government offices from June.

The state IT minister’s instructions to begin fiber-optic expansion were announced on Thursday during a review meeting with Telangana Fiber Grid Corporation board officials at T-Hub in Hyderabad. KTR, which is the chairman of the Telangana Fiber Grid Corporation, told officials that by every year in August, every fiber connection will be expanded and that work will be carried out accordingly.

According to K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR)’s instructions, all the Rythu Vedikas should also be extensive fiber compound, KTR said. He added that it would enable the vision of KCR to bring all the farmers in the state under one roof to discuss, communicate and exchange ideas with ministers and government officials through video conferencing.

Farmers could also benefit, as they will soon have better access to prices and other marketing information, KTR said, according to a press release from its office. The minister further wanted the officials to consider exploring broadband connections as a utility and working out a mechanism to expand connectivity to all the households in all the towns in the state.
