
Maplewood Residential and Grandbrind Limited are to commence construction on a 1,034-home development at Kilcarbery in Clondalkin next week.
It will be the first public-private housing project of its kind in the Republic and also the first development under the Government’s Rebuilding Ireland housing initiative.
Ranging in size from four-bedroom houses to one-bedroom apartments, they will be built on a 72-acre publicly owned site, with 30pc of homes earmarked for public housing and 70pc for private sale.
Phase 1, comprising 301 units will include 183 units for sale with 112 units for social occupants. Prices for houses could start in the €320,000 to €350,000 range.
