IPL 2021, MI vs RCB: From Ishan Kishan to Kyle Jamieson, 5 youngsters to watch out for in IPL 2021 opener- The Indian Premier League is a perfect stage for the youngsters to showcase their skills. Over the years, a number of young guns have proved themselves by contributing to the IPL franchises and earning maiden national call. With a couple of days left for the IPL 2021 extravaganza, we look at five youngsters who can leave their mark in the season opener. They are MI’s Ishan Kishan, Rahul Chahar, RCB’s Kyle Jamieson, Mohammad Azharuddeen, and Sachin Baby. Virat Kohli-led RCB will lock horns against defending champions Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021 opener in Chennai on April 9.

Ishan Kishan

With Quinton de Kock yet to finish a week-long quarantine, Ishan Kishan is set to open the innings for Mumbai Indians against RCB in the opening match. He had scored 516 runs in the previous IPL season and smashed a maiden fifty on his T20I debut recently. The 22-year-old will be a player to watch for in the MI vs RCB contest at Chepauk Stadium.

Sachin Baby

Kerala captain and right-handed batsman Sachin baby was sold to RCB for Rs 20 lakh in IPL 2021 auction. Despite being 32, Sachin is still a youngster when it comes to experience. He is likely to bat in the middle-order and play the role of a finisher, as per Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has scored 1499 runs in 80 T20s which includes 7 fifties.

Mohammed Azharuddeen

Mohammed Azharuddeen managed to get a contract with RCB at the base price of Rs.20 lakh. The young right-handed batsman from Kerala played the innings of his life just at the right time before the auctions in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy earlier in the year. He played an enthralling inning of 137 runs in mere 54 balls against Mumbai, hitting nine fours and 11 sixes.

Kyle Jamieson

Kyle Jamieson is an exciting pacer to feature in the IPL 2021. He wanted to become a batsman but his coach advised him to a bowler. The 6.5-inch tall pacer has scalped the wickets of Cheteshwar Pujara and Virat Kohli is only Test against India. He later went on to pick two five-wicket hauls against Pakistan. Later he returned with figures of 6-7 for Canterbury against Wellington on 2019 New Year’s Day. He has picked 36 wickets in just 6 Tests.

Rahul Chahar

The 21-year-old is a skilful leg spinner for Mumbai Indians. Captain Rohit Sharma has used Rahul Chahar in the powerplay and he has proved he could do the difficult job. He had taken 15 wickets in 15 matches at an economy rate of 8.16 last season. He is expected to replicate his success in IPL 2021.
