Blizzard Announces 'From the Vault' Line of Collectibles

Bow down to the Lich King.

Blizzard has been around for a while; the company is turning 30 this year. To celebrate, it's introducing a limited series of "From the Vault" collectibles that are based on some of the publisher's most popular games and characters. New items will roll out all year, but preorders are now live at the Blizzard Gear Store for the first wave. You can pick up a massive World of Warcraft Lich King premium statue, as well as a piece of concept art print for Prince Aras.

Both the Lich King statue and a Prince Arthas concept art print are April's "From the Vault" additions. Each month between now and November, Blizzard will make a new set of collectibles available. The month's new items will revolve around a franchise or character that's given the spotlight for that particular drop. You can expect to see a new concept art print arrive each month, though these, including the one for Prince Arthas this month, will only be available to purchase for 30 days.

The Lich King statue stands over two feet tall and weighs 40 pounds. It's a premium collectible, something that's reflected in its $1,099.99 price. The Prince Arthas concept art print is an 8" x 10" piece that's more affordable at $29.99.

"It was amazing to see such a great reception from our community for the 30th Anniversary merchandise released earlier this year for BlizzConline," said Matt Beecher, VP of Global Consumer Products at Blizzard Entertainment. "It’s the fan enthusiasm that has kept us energized to continue delivering moments throughout the year where players can celebrate their favorite Blizzard franchises. Today’s 'From the Vault' kickoff with the World of Warcraft Lich King Arthas Premium Statue pre-orders and Prince Arthas Concept Art Print limited release is just the start, and we encourage fans to stay tuned and follow along as we drop new products the second Thursday of each month!"
