Karimnagar: Anti Corruption Bureau caught the fishermen of the fishery, Deputy Director Mohammed Khadeer Ahmed, while accepting bribes of Rs 40,000 from a fisherman on Wednesday.
According to ACB police, fishermen from Chandurthi of the Rajanna-Sircilla district approached local officials to get permission for a new fishing association.
Khadir Ahmed, who is also in charge of the Rajanna-Sircilla district, demanded Rs 50,000 to give permission. Since the bribe could not be paid, ACB approached ACB who was devising a plan and trapped DD and Senior Assistant while accepting the bribe.
The ACB police conducted simultaneous raids in the Karimnagar and Rajanna-Sircilla districts. Khadeer Ahmed was trapped in his office in Karimnagar while accepting Rs 40,000 from the beneficiary Narsaiah. Senior Assistant Anjaiah was detained while taking Rs 10,000 in Sircilla from a beneficiary Gaddam Janardhan.
