Moscow, April 7 (Sputnik) Zoom Video Communications, a US-based online chat provider, has told Sputnik that it is looking into reports of a ban on sales of its licenses to Russian state agencies, and believes it might be a decision by one of its partners.
According to media reports, Zoom has banned its distributors from selling services to governmental agencies and state-owned companies in Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States.
"This sounds like it may be based on a communication from one of our sales partner agencies and not Zoom. We are looking into it," Zoom’s press service told Sputnik.
Alexander Bashkin, a member of the Russian upper chamber's constitutional legislation committee, told Sputnik earlier in the day that Zoom might be blocked in Russia if it bans access to its services for the Russian state agencies.
