IPL 2021: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will breathe a sigh of relief ahead of IPL 2021. Their prized possession Ravindra Jadeja was on song during the practice session after returning from a long injury lay-off. In a video shared by the all-rounder, he was seen in rhythm, taking on bowlers to hit sixes while he was still the same energetic fielder and fine spinner that CSK fans are accustomed to seeing.
In a video shared by Ravindra Jadeja on Twitter, he was seen effortlessly taking on the bowlers during CSK’s batting practice in Mumbai. It was his first full-fledged practice after recovering from a thumb surgery that kept him out of India vs England series.

Jadeja suffered the injury during India’s tour to Australia. In January, Jadeja suffered a blow to his left thumb while batting on Day 3 of the 3rd Test against Australia. Later, scans revealed that he had dislocated his thumb. He was forced to go under the knife to make a full recovery. That also raised concerns about whether he would be able to play in the IPL.
But ahead of the IPL 2021, Jadeja got clearance from National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru to join the CSK camp in Mumbai. Jadeja had begun preparation for the IPL before joining CSK camp. While undergoing rehabilitation, he returned to nets to bat and bowl in March.
However, now that it’s clear Jadeja is back to his best, MS Dhoni’s CSK will be relieved to see their star all-rounder sweating it out. He has been influential in the team’s triumph in the last few seasons. Last season, despite CSK’s disappointing campaign where they failed to qualify for the playoffs for the first time, Jadeja scored 232 runs at an impressive average of 46.40. However, it was the wickets that dried up. He scalped only six and conceded runs at an economy rate of 8.75 in the UAE. This time, he will hope to do better with the ball. MS Dhoni-led CSK will play their first game against Delhi Capitals on April 10.
