In a recent report, excessive intake of these drugs during puberty may result in memory loss. Sugars induce differences in gut microbiota, or healthy bacteria, according to the report.

Kanoski Lab, on the other hand, has been researching the connection between diet and brain function in rats for several years. Sugary drinks hinder memory function in mice, according to the researchers. The healthy bacteria in their stomachs often change as a result of these, as per research. According to Emily Noble, a member of the research team, a rise in sugar intake in a child causes a decrease in his or her ability to learn.

The most popular human sugar drinks were given to adolescent mice by scientists. At each point, mice's gut bacteria (bacteria found in the digestive system) were analyzed. The gut bacteria of sugar-drinking rats and standard water-drinking rats were compared and differences were noted. Sugary beverages have been shown to contain a lot of gut bacteria from two different species. Regular water-drinking rats were found to be devoid of the para bacteroids distasonis and parabacteroid johnsonii.

Furthermore, scientists performed a special experiment to see how parabacteroid bacteria damage mice's memory and brain activity. They injected parabacteroid bacteria developed in the lab into the stomachs of water-drinking teenage mice. The perirhinal cortex of the rats he transplanted also displayed memory deficiency. This finding adds to a lot of evidence that changes in the gut microbiota are to blame for changes in human brain activity linked to diet.
