Well, the new magistrates’ court building in the capital city Victoria is India’s first major civil infrastructure project in Seychelles. It will significantly assist the State with enhancing its judicial system.
It is also expected to render better judicial services to the civilians of Seychelles.
Although, Seychelles has already captured a paramount room in the Prime Ministers’ vision of ‘SAGAR’, “Security and the Growth for All in the Region”. Apparently, the inauguration of these significant projects in Seychelles will assist India with the portrayal of a reliable partner of Seychelles.
There’s a vital piece of information to be noted is that the President of Seychelles is an Indian-origin president. On the 24th of November, 2020, External Affairs Minister S Jayshankar began his 6-days visit to Bahrain, United Arab Emirates, and Seychelles as well. On November 27th and 28th, S Jayshankar visited Seychelles to hold a meeting with president Wavel as well as for presenting greetings of Prime Minister Modi. He also had a discussion over the strengthening of the bilateral relations plus the priorities and responsibilities of the newly elected President, Wavel Ramkalwan.
