Hotels would be used for isolation centers

Looking for assistance and support from all hotel owners and travel agencies to maintain an equilibrium between revival of tourism and limiting the virus spread, on Tuesday, Mohammad Aijaz, Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, has requested them to earmark few hotels which could be made use as isolation centers for tourists.


He has requested all hoteliers to keep two rooms separate in each hotel as isolation center for COVID positive tourists. In the wake of the rising cases of COVID, the DC today took a complete review of the measures related to COVID control in the district, while attending a meeting with associated officers.


In the meeting, the main points that were talked about were stringent implementation of COVID protocols as per SOPs, fortifying all COVID checkpoints, sampling managements and management in terms of quarantine of COVID positive cases. To control this second wave of virus attack, the DC has urged for doubling all initiatives and measures to control the situation. He requested close coordination among line departments to keep an eye and monitor the tourists coming to the Valley, mainly at the airports and Lower Munda.
