Killers Of The Flower Moon Adds Four More To Its Cast

Apple's highly anticipated new film from director Martin Scorsese and starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Robert De Niro, Killers of the Flower Moon, has added four more cast members. The film tells the story of the murders of Osage tribal members in the 1920s, which led to the start of the FBI. The film studio told Osage News that the new cast members include:

• Indigenous actor William Belleau (Twilight) will play Henry Roan, an Osage man who tried to do the right thing again and again but was ultimately murdered.
• Louis Cancelmi (The Irishman) will play Kelsie Morrison, described as "double agent" who worked as an informant for the FBI and a hitman for William Hale.
• Jason Isbell (singer-songwriter)will play Bill Smith, the white husband of an Osage woman.
• Sturgill Simpson (singer-songwriter) will play Henry Grammer, an "infamous rodeo champion."

They join the previous announced cast includes DiCaprio as Ernest Burkhart, De Niro as Bill Hale, Jesse Plemons as Tom White, and Lily Gladstone as Mollie Burkhart.

Osage Nation Principal Chief Jim Gray told the news site, "I knew this day was going to come and I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about it. Hopeful, I guess is the word that best describes my feelings."

Killers of the Flower Moon is set in 1920s Oklahoma during a time when the Osage Nation Native American tribe found oil under their homeland. After this discovery, high-ranking members of the Native American group were murdered one by one. The story is based on real events and is adapted by Eric Roth from the book by David Grann.

According to reports, Scorsese originally brought Killers of the Flower Moon to Netflix--the company that financed his extremely expensive mobster movie The Irishman--but Apple came in with a higher bid. Netflix was reportedly ready to pay $215 million for the film, but Apple made a better offer.

Killers of the Flower Moon is just the latest high-profile movie headed exclusively to Apple TV+. The company also recently announced the Brie Larson series Lessons in Chemistry, while Ridley Scott's Napoleon Bonaparte movie starring Joaquin Phoenix is also set up at Apple. The Will Smith slavery movie Emancipation is also coming to Apple TV+.
