Delhi-NCR news live: Night curfew imposed in Noida from 10pm to 5am till April 17

There are only 330 Covid ICU beds with ventilator available across Delhi. The number of Covid ICU beds without ventilator that are vacant is 715. With Covid-19 cases surging fast, the demand for critical care beds has gone up multiple times and many patients are forced to run from one hospital to the other for admission — a scenario witnessed earlier in November last year when daily cases had crossed the 8,000-mark in the capital. Officials claim a similar crisis is emerging again, though at much greater speed. On Wednesday, Delhi recorded more than 5,000 cases for the second consecutive day with 5,506 more persons testing positive for Covid-19. Stay with TOI for all the latest updates:

Delhi among ten states showing upward trajectory of daily new Covid-19 cases (PTI)

Ten states including Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Kerala and Punjab have shown a steep rise in the daily Covid-19 cases accounting for 84.21 per cent of the 1,26,789 new infections, the health ministry said on Thursday.

A Class 12 student was apprehended for allegedly stalking, threatening and harassing a 20-year-old woman on social media to have a sexual relationship with her, police said on Thursday. On the basis of technical inputs, the 17-year-old boy was identified by the police as a resident of Delhi's Krishna Nagar, they said, adding that the case was solved within five hours of receiving the complaint. Maximum temperature in Delhi likely to touch 36 degree Celsius

Delhiites woke up to a clear sky on Thursday with the minimum temperature settling at 19.4 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. The maximum temperature is expected to hover around 36 degree Celsius, it added. The relative humidity recorded at 8.30 am was 47 per cent. The weather office has predicted mainly clear sky in the afternoon as well. The minimum and maximum temperature in the city on Wednesday was 21.7 degrees and 37 degrees Celsius, respectively.
