
Pariksha Pe Charcha 2021 HIGHLIGHTS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with students, parents, and teachers in ‘Pariksha Pe Charcha 2021‘ program Wednesday. PM Modi said while the coronavirus forced social distancing, it also strengthened emotional bonding in families.
Replying to a teacher’s question on how to make children approach relatively difficult subjects, PM Modi said successful people are not proficient in every subject but their grip on a single subject is tremendous.
This year, the event was being held virtually due to the coronavirus pandemic. Over 13 lakh registrations were done for the programme. For the first time, the event was global and entries were invited from all across the world. Students, parents, teachers were given a chance to discuss their fears, aspirations, concerns, and suggestions with the prime minister.
PM Modi: "Show the same interest in your child's generation's talks, you will get involved in his enjoyment, then you will see how the generation gap ends."
PM Modi to parents: "If you want to grow old, then keep a distance from your children. But if you want to grow into your younger self, shorten the gap with your children."
A student from Ahmedabad asked how should students remember the pandemic year. Modi answers students have faced big difficulty during their childhood. School is a place to interact with teachers, friends and a place to make memories. You must be missing pre coronavirus life. The best thing about this one year is to realise who all are important for you. Nothing should be take for granted. We have also got a chance to understand our family better. Corona time has united families.
A student from Ahlcon Public School asked why do we forget answers when we see the question paper. Modi said be stressfree and don't be conscious. Leave all tension outside the exam centre. The solution to deal with tension is available in Exam Warrior book and NaMo app.
Divanka, a student from Pushar, asks PM how to sharpen memory?
He replies students should not think they can memorise. In fact, if you observe how you learned your mother tongue. Like you will remember your fight with your siblings. This means you were fully involved on that moment.
Amrita Jain from Mordadabad asked students don't eat what we pack for tiffin. Modi said we should talk about the speciality of the traditional food. Every family member should know how we prepare food, ingredients and time taken. Nowadays, there is so much information about food. We can prepare a game. The family doctor should discuss what to eat, hereditary disorders in the family. Also discuss with teachers how through an interesting way they can tell students the benefits of lunch box.
A student from Kuwait asked how to prepare oneself for battle of life? Modi answers observes things around yourself and learn from it. Dream but don't sit ideal. Be determined. Think of that one dream that you wish to fulfil. Your vision will be clear.
PM Modi: "Children are very smart. It is difficult to say what you (parents) will or will not do, but there is every possibility that what you are doing, he looks at it very closely and is eager to repeat it."
A teacher from Ludhiana asked how to make students self-motivated.
PM said replies, "I differ. We run behind children as they are faster than us. It is right we have our own value system and tell students to follow this. Parents make parameters and want children to follow it and when we fail to pull them up, we complain they lack motivation. I would suggest to train them, motivation will follow."
Giving an example to parental pressure on children, PM Modi said, "I remember an incident of a Bengali girl who left her career for a startup and told her mother about it. When the mother got to know she 'sarbonash'. But later the girl was very successful in her career."
"You must not tie your children with your thought," PM said.
PM Modi to parents: "It is not necessary that children follow the same value as their parents."
"Parents must not burden their children with their values, but find a way to inculcate basic values in their upbringing."
PM Modi: "Use free time by observing your parents how they are managing daily chores. Do story writing, painting etc. Give a way to express your thoughts. Creativity can take you where no one has reached."
PM Modi: "Free time should not be wasted, it is a treasure, an opportunity. In your daily lifestyle, you should have some free time otherwise your life becomes robotic. They can be of two types, one which is pre-decided, and the other is which you get to know at the last moment. If you know your spare time beforehand, then you can ask your parents or siblings if you can help them in their chores. Or you can utilise this time to indulge in things which makes you happy."
"In my spare time, I like to sit on a jhoola (swing). When you earn your free time, then it must rejuvenate you."
PM Modi: 'Teachers and parents tell us attempt things/ questions that are easy. However, with education this suggestion is not right. In fact, first attempt difficulty as your mind is fresh. When I was a chief minister, I also learned things. I started my day discussing difficult things.'
'Those who are successful they are not good in all subjects but they have stronghold in one subject,' he added.
PM Modi shares Lata Mangeshkar's example on how she is so perfect in her art.
PM Modi: "We have one word for exam - kasauti (test). It means to tighten yourself, it is not that the exam is the last chance. Rather, the exam is a perfect opportunity to tighten yourself up to live a long life in a way."
PM Modi says children should not be pressured by parents, teachers, relatives and others, so that they can give exams without any pressure.
"Earlier, parents used to be connected with children on many subjects and were also comfortable. Nowadays, parents are involved with children till their career, studies and celebrations. If parents are more involved, then they understand the interest, nature, tendency of the children and fill their shortcomings," he said.
PM Modi: One thing I want to tell the countrymen, parents and teachers is that this is a discussion on the exam, but it is not just about the exam. A lot of things can happen, a new confidence has to be created.
PM Modi begins his interaction with students in the Pariksha Pe Charcha event.
Through this program, students, parents, teachers from all across the country are given a chance to discuss their fears, aspirations, concerns and suggestions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The winners of the contest will get an opportunity to participate directly in the event along with PM Modi. They will receive certificates of appreciation and Pariksha Pe Charcha kits.
