Major fire destroys factory in Thane

Thane, Apr 6 (UNI) A devastating fire broke out in a factory in Bhiwandi town of the district on Tuesday, destroying it completely.
The fire broke out late afternoon at around 1600 hours at the pearls manufacturing factory situated at the Shastri Nagar on Kalyan road, the civic sources said.
Three fire engines from Bhiwandi were pressed into service, fought the blaze for about an hour and brought it under control.
No one was injured in the fire.
The cause of the fire has yet to be ascertained, sources added.
