    Silver futures up on spot demand

    Synopsis

    Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mostly due to fresh positions built by participants.

    Participants widened their bets on firm spot demand.
    NEW DELHI: Silver prices rose by Rs 536 to Rs 65,098 per kg in futures trade on Tuesday as participants widened their bets on a firm spot demand.

    On the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver contracts for May delivery gained Rs 536, or 0.83 per cent, to Rs 65,098 per kg in 9,933 lots.

    Analysts said the rise in silver prices was mostly due to fresh positions built by participants on a positive domestic trend.

    However, globally silver was trading 0.99 per cent higher at USD 25.03 per ounce in New York
